On Jan. 10, Gov. J.B. Pritzker, D-Ill., signed legislation
banning assault weapons.
The move is viewed widely as a political, not a pragmantic
one .
At the time of this writing, rumors continue to swirl about
Pritzker’s oversized presidential ambitions following his re-election as
governor of the fifth largest state in America.
In a rushed late-night signing ceremony, with the press in
tow at the State Capitol in Springfield, Pritzker, alongside anti-gun lawmakers
and activists, took the opportunity, to level an attack against law-abiding gun
owners and gun groups like the National Rifle Association (NRA), and the
Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA).
The governor made it a point to declare:
"For the past four years, my administration and my
colleagues in the State Capitol have been battling the powerful forces of the
NRA to enshrine the strongest and most effective gun violence legislation that
we possibly can."
Pritzker wasn’t done.
He had a direct message for the law-abiding gun owners and
gun groups in Illinois: there will be consequences for not following the law.
The warning prompted one of the most active and respected
state rile associations in the country — and an organization that’s existed in
Illinois since 1903, to immediately issue a statement aimed directly at
Pritzker, with this message, "Challenge accepted. The Illinois State Rifle
Association will see the State of Illinois in court."
And that’s exactly what the ISRA did — filing a federal
lawsuit challenging Pritzker’s unconstitutional assault weapons ban a month
later, and naming Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul — a close ally of Pritzker, as one of the parties
to the litigation.
The Democrats — particularly the Illinois variety, including
Pritzker can’t even define a woman — how then are they expected to define an
assault weapon?
Nobody knows.
And as crime continues to skyrocket in Chicago and across
Illinois — and with police officers overworked in an anti-police environment
created by the Democrats leading to unusually high suicide rates amongst
Chicago Police officers in particular, Pritzker is out there threatening police
for not wanting to enforce his unconstitutional gun ban, saying, "As are
all law enforcement all across our state and they will in fact do their job or
they won’t be in their job."
Driven by presidential ambitions, while drinking his own
Kool-Aid, Pritzker has lost all common sense, so now he attacks law-abiding
citizens; law-abiding gun groups like the ISRA, and also law enforcement.
Pritzker should be spending his time going after the real
criminals, instead, he’s going after every day, hardworking, law-abiding
citizens - and gun groups.
Furthermore, he blames them for every act of gun violence in
the Land of Lincoln instead of the actual murderers themselves.
Illinois' 43rd governor uses unspeakable tragedies to feed
his presidential ambitions.
It’s time for the rest of the country to see who the real J.B.
Pritzker is.
The ISRA federal lawsuit presents a perfect opportunity to
do just that!
